Welcome. A little bit about me…I grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. Spent most of my life on the east coast. I attended the University of South Carolina for my undergraduate education and In 2015 I graduated with my Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling/Mental Health Counseling from the Medical College of Virginia. After spending the decade of my 20s in Virginia, I decided I needed to take some risks and make a life change. After I graduated from graduate school I took a long west coast roadtrip with my father, inevitably falling in love with the PNW and the slow pace lifestyle. It took me about 5 years to press go but I finally packed up my truck, dog and solo moved across the country to Oregon. Afterall what is life and living without some risk.
Over the last 10 years my clinical work has ranged from working in clinical research labs studying the impact of CBT with substance use populations, working in the home of at risk youth, providing clinical supervision and more recently providing full fidelity DBT therapy at the Portland DBT Institute. My diverse population range has given more invaluable tools and experience that I bring with my in private practice.
I currently live in SE Portland with my partner and our pup, Doc. I identify as queer and am in a queer monogamous partnership. As an introvert at my core, my interests include gardening, nature, music, record collecting, restorative wellness practice, biking, camping, skiing, adventuring, quality connection and relishing in solo idle time aka the art of doing nothing.
